Credentials
Carriers must create an API token sharing the following elements in order to run automated tracking with this GPS:
- Name
- Access token
This way, FR8APP can add them to our integration with Motive and be able to get the locations of the units in transit.
How to create an API Token
When exploring the Motive page, two links were found where it indicates how to generate the token; both links contain a small variable for the creation of the token.

1. Click on Administrator in the lower left corner of the Motive Fleet Control Panel.
2. Click on Developers in the left side menu.
3. In the API Access tab, click the Request API Key button.
4. The following screen will appear to send an email to API support. Click the OK button.
5. Once you have created your API key, you can check or uncheck the "Test mode" box at any time. Keeping this box checked means that your data cannot be modified by any external intermediary who has access to your API key.
In this request format, Motive will send an email indicating to the Carrier that it has received the request for the creation of a new token.
Afterwards you will be asked for the name of the platform where you want to use the token. Ask the Client to indicate that it is for internal use.

1. Log in to the Fleet Control Panel and click on Administrator in the left side menu.
2. In the menu on the left side, click on Developers.
3. Click the Create API Key button.
4. A pop-up window will appear asking for the name of the new API key. Enter it in the corresponding field.
5. Click "Save" to continue.
6. Once the API key has been saved, a pop-up message will appear.
