Freight
This tab manages the entire list of shipments within the system.
Shipments refer to the full transportation of goods from point A to point B.
They are defined as any type of goods or products that need to be transported from one location to another and are linked to customer payments.
In the system, shipments serve as the foundation for operations and interactions between all users, carriers, and clients.
Segments refer to the parts of a shipment where transfers between different trucks, border crossings, etc., may occur, and they are associated with the costs charged to carriers.
In summary, a shipment can consist of one or more segments, depending on the case.
The Loadboard is a tool that allows you to manage all shipments in the system, offering easier control through filters and sorting options.
How to create a shipment
We go to the Freight tab and then click on Shipments.
We click on New Shipment in the top right corner.
We fill all the required fields that belong to this shipment. The mandatory ones are: Shipper, Trailer Type, Pick up and drop off date and times, amount and currency.
Finally, we click on Create the shipment.
How to create a segment
The system will automatically create a segment for us after we create a shipment.
To view it, click the eye icon on our shipment.
Next, go to the Segments tab, where you can view, split, and/or cancel the segment.
If you want to create more segments, just click Split Segment and fill in the information requested by the system.
Once you've done that, you'll be able to see all the segments of that shipment in the same menu. Depending on the segment (whether it's the first one or not), you can perform different actions on it.
