Mandatory download of Rate Confirmation
Automatic sending of the Rate Confirmation
Introduction
This article will look at how the carrier confirms and officially commits to the cargo and the rate provided to cover the capacity of a shipment. All of this is summarized in the standard document CI Letter of Instructions or CRC Carrier Rate Confirmation.
Carrier Rate Confirmation
It is a file that contains all the information about both the carrier and the cargo.
Includes carrier details: Name, Phone Number, Address, Dispatcher Name, Driver Name, Payment Terms, Trailer Unit and Number.
Includes shipment details: Equipment, Insurance, Weight, Dimensions, Container Material, Container Type, and Accessories (if applicable).
Includes loading and unloading details: Date, time, load number, loading customer, address, instructions, and weight.
CRC example:
Mandatory download of Rate Confirmation
When entering a shipment into the system, before being able to perform any action, the carrier is required to download the CRC for the shipment they wish to access in PDF format.
Automatic sending of the Rate Confirmation
All users registered in the carrier account, regardless of their role in the system (provided they have previously confirmed their email address), will receive a copy of the CRC when a shipment is assigned to that carrier.
